About Me:
Singer, songwriter Terri G (Terri Gary) is the latest Pop sensation to grace the airwaves.
Terri, a native of Massachusetts, began her career in the first grade as a choir girl. She devoted her childhood and teen years as a singer and pianist but took a break from her career for much of the 80’s and 90’s in order to raise a family. Her continued interest in songwriting culminated in the release of her first demo in 2003, a foreshadowing of Terri’s return to the stage.
Since then, she has consistently entertained music lovers everywhere with her introspective songs. She has built dedicated fan bases across the country thanks to her performances at Curb Stage in Nashville, Library Park, the Kennedy Plaza, channel 15’s Curtain Call, MS Foundation’s, Steve’s Backstage Pass, prisons and countless charities, radio programs and concerts.
Her work blends the angelic voice of Enya, the toe-tapping hype of Shania Twain and the rich, spiritual sound of Amy Grant. Songs such as “All My Treasures” and “Beautitudes” are a testament to her musical and lyrical prowess. The former “strikes a nerve,” she explains. “It’s a great story of the innocence of childhood and the loss a parent may feel when their child grows up only to leave the nest.” The latter, meanwhile, is a “great acclamation of God who is in control, giving us advice as to how we should live as Christians.”
In May, 2008, Terri won a director's award in the Nashville International Song and Lyric Contest from Paramount Group for her song entry " Walked Away." She identifies the theme, composes the lyrics and develops the melody for all her work.
Terri is also an accomplished poet. Her poetry is distinct from her song-writing displaying a unique perspective and original creativity. In 2004, she received the International Library of Poetry’s Editor’s Choice Award for her poem “Where Is My Spoon?” which was published in the deluxe hardbound edition of the collection Tracing the Infinite.
Terri G’s full-length debut album will be released later this year.
